What's New? Office 2010

Ah yes, my first foray into the world of screen casting! And what a nightmare it has been! But as always, practice makes perfect.

Being a Technet subscriber, I was allowed early access to the final version of Microsoft Office 2010. The video embedded below details some of the changes that the new version of Office brings with it.

The screencast was recorded and encoded using Microsoft's Expression Encoder 3. Though the editing capabilities of the application leaves much to be desired, I find the encoding options to be superb. Ultimately, the video was uploaded to Vimeo, as Youtube persisted in throwing the audio out of sync.

For the best viewing experience, I would suggest watching in HD and full screen. That can be accomplished on the Vimeo page, here.

All in all, if you already own Office 2007, there may not be much incentive in shelling out for 2010. However, if you are still running Office 2003 or are in the market for an office suite, then the decision is a no brainer. Microsoft Office 2010 seems to be a solid release that only improves on its predecessor.
